Changed Web Site This site will stay up for quite some time but there is now a new site where updates will be made. It is: http://www.climate-whichway.info/ One new page of interest is: http://www.climate-whichway.info/ETS.html This
site includes a summary of why the European Union's Emissions Trading
Scheme (ETS) has been such an abject failure with links to more
information.
Also. information on the following very topical tour:
Lord
Monckton and Professor Ian Plimer are undertaking a talking/debating
tour on climate change in Australia from 26 January 2010 to 8 February
2010. (Brisbane at the Hiton may be booked out but not the Irish Club.)

Beware
the Data Fiddlers Deliberate manipulation of data to meet a pre-conceived agenda?
Copenhagen
Disgrace
It's
outrageous that the document “Copenhagen
Diagnosis” distributed to all delegates by the organisers of the Copenhagen
summit on climate change was co-authored by the great data fiddler
and very dishonest Michael Mann!
Michael Mann has been ostracised by
his peers. Why? Because he fudged widely accepted data on global
temperatures to produce his dishonest “hockey stick” used
by the
gross exaggerator, Al Gore.
For
many years, temperature data for the last 1,000 years has been
analysed by experts who have agreed on the variations shown which
include the Medieval
Warming and the Little
Ice Age. Mann's
massaging of the data intentionally did away with these to produce
his rigged “hockey stick” chart.
In
1996, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) “Second
Assessment Summary for Policy Makers” chart on global temperatures
included the Medieval Warming, the Little Ice Age and late Twentieth
Century warming. However, in 2001, the IPPC uncritically adopted
Michael Mann's fraudulent data and in their 2001 Climate Change
Report included a totally different chart using Michael
Mann's rigged
figures and showing his ridiculous “hockey stick”.
Following
widespread condemnation of Michel Mann's dishonesty(a), subsequent
IPCC reports have included charts omitting the “hockey stick” without
explanation. This is also disgraceful, as the 2001 IPPC
chart based on rigged data together with al Gore's hyperbole, were
crucial in putting so much unjustified fear and emotion into the
whole Global Warming debate. It is clear that the IPPC
authors knew
that the rigged “hockey stick” data was wrong and sent a very
misleading case to the public.
At
the Copenhagen Summit, Saudi Arabia has called for an independent
investigation into “Climategate”, the scandal over hacked e-mails
that threatened to undermine the global-warming negotiations. The
emails came from the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research
Unit (CRU),
headed by Phil Jones (since stood down) and widely used
by the IPCC. In one email Phil Jones says: “I’ve just completed
Mike’s [Mann] Nature [Magazine] trick of adding in the real temps
to each series for the last 20 years (i.e. from 1981 onwards) and
from 1961 for Keith’s [Briffa] to hide the decline [in
temperatures].”

The Role
of CO2
We've
had global warming from 1850 to 1998 (+ 0.7 degrees C) following
global cooling in the
Little Ice Age from 1280 to 1850 (- 2.0 degrees
C). But has CO2 been the major cause?
A simple
consideration is to compare
hot deserts with the tropics. During the
day, most deserts are the hottest places on earth. But at night,
they rapidly radiate heat and become cold quickly. Why? Because
just 0.0385 per cent
(385 ppm) CO2 in the atmosphere is incapable of
making an appreciable difference. And the atmosphere above hot
deserts is dry, so that there is virtually no water vapour (moisture,
humidity), the main greenhouse gas by far, to block heat radiation.
Compare
that to the tropics. Very warm during the day. But at night, with
no radiation from our sun, temperatures stay relatively high. Why?
There is high humidity and this water vapour blocks heat radiation.
The
United Nations and many politicians have got a religious-like
campaign going like the proven gross exaggerator, Al Gore.
They try
to imply that modern carbon emissions are like the coal particulate
smog that plagued London in the industrial revolution! Modern
coal
power plant emissions only include carbon as odourless, colourless,
non-toxic CO2 that is essential for all plant life. What
you can see
is water vapour, the
major greenhouse gas, which has around 60 times
the greenhouse gas impact of CO2 but is far too complex in its impact
to include in computer models.
Further,
the relatively very small impact of CO2 on warming is a reverse
logarithmic one. Doubling CO2 from now would have little impact on
temperature (but would boost crop yields by about 70 per cent).
It's
interesting that during the Roman
Warming (250BC - 450AD) and the
Medieval
Warming (900 - 1280 AD) periods, European temperatures
reached 1.5 - 2.0 degrees C warmer than now. This had nothing to do
with CO2 but was due to the normal cause - increased solar radiation
(which regularly changes). These were boom periods due to increased
rainfall and, therefore, increased crop yields!
